Mobile shop owner held for selling SIM cards without identity proof
Kannur, Mar 12: A mobile phone shop owner was arrested for issuing over 1,000 SIM cards of a private telecom company with the fake identity cards at Iritty in this ditrict of Kerala today.
Iritty Circle Inspector of Police K Sudharshan said following a tip-off, raid was conducted at the mobile shop and fake identity cards and applications forms were seized.
Police said the accused, O Vijesh (30), had been making fake identity card and distributing SIM without valid proof to achieve the company target for the highest distribution shop.
Investigation was going on to find out whether any person involved in terror activities had managed to obtain such SIM cards.
