Celebs Come to Japan Aid: Where's Bollywood?

The Japan tsunami and earthquake destroyed innumerable lives along with a million dreams. People from all around the world came forward to provide help in any way possible and our international celebs were not far behind.
Hollywood artistes like Lady Gaga, Charlie Sheen and our homegrown superstar Rajnikanth came up with different ways to help those affected by the quake and tsunami. Here's an info on who did what for Japan.

Lady Gaga

The singer was one of the first ones to take the initiative of providing aid to Japan. She put her self-designed bracelets on sale to raise funds. She made the announcement via twitter and her official website which read, "Lady GaGa designed a 'We Pray For Japan' prayer bracelet, buy yours now for $5 (£3) in the web store and all proceeds go to Japan tsunami relief."

Charlie Sheen

The troubled star has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. However, he took time out from his personal crisis and help the people affected by the tsunami. He annouced, "One dollar from each ticket to “My Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is Not An Option Show” LIVE will be donated to the Red Cross Japanese earthquake relief fund," on his website.

Black Eyed Peas

Hip hop group, Black Eyed Peas have pledged their support by dedicating their new music video for 'Just Can't Get Enough' to people affected by the calamity. the video startswith a message that states, This video was filmed in Japan one week before the earthquake. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the people of Japan. We love you.”
The video ends with a link to the Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Fund urging fans to donate to the Red Cross.

Linkin Park

Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda has designed two T-shirts for the band's charity, Music for Relief, and the proceeds from the sale will go towards the relief work in Japan.

Blink-182

The rock group has launched an online auction of memorabilia to help Red Cross in its efforts in Japan aid. Stuff like original hand-written lyric sheets are available on ebay and all the proceeds will go towards Red Cross aid for Japan.

Rajnikanth

Amongst all these Hollywood celebs, the lone Indian star who has come up with an initiative to aid Japan. He has reportedly set up a team to visit Japan and help bring as many people, out of the crisis, as possible. He is apparently donoting a large sum of money and has also convinced his South co-actors like Suriya, Kamal Hassan and Vijay, to do the same.
